About Intro

Hayley started working as a producer in advertising in the
mid 90s, during which time the landscape has changed immensely both in terms of content and the way it’s consumed.

Something that struck her around eight to ten years ago when Instagram and influencers were starting to gain traction was how much more engaged consumers were when they could relate to the person selling to them whether that be because they recognised the location of where they were based or because they were a similar age and the same life stage.

 

All of a sudden traditional advertising and even advertising platforms like TV and radio seemed outdated as they were such a blanket, generic notion.

Some of the most popular social media content is the Linked In personal stories not the business ones, the Trip Advisor travellers photos not the hotel supplied, professional ones. On retail apps the consumer's own home photos showing their new sofa in their lounge or their photo collages on living room walls are what’s most engaging.
